Important things to consider for *any* non citizen now. I would also recommend using extra caution with domestic air travel and have a plan in place in case you are detained.
My immigration firm sent a newsletter today in response to inquiries from clients over the last two months. They "strongly recommend against international travel", warned against even walking past political rallies, noted government reps may ask to see emails, texts + social media, and these points:

Starting tomorrow, the Trump administration is set to send notices to 1,000 student loan borrowers (first round) noticing them of an intent to garnish their wages for student loan debt.

This is cruel and unnecessary.

If you receive a notice, send it to us and we'll try to help.

Finding out that this is part of the discourse (from this post) and LOL. I wish you all a life that’s fulfilling enough not to be bothered by fictional characters and their bathing habits (or the joy of others, broadly) 😘

Some of you talking about how Ilya showers so much so it must be OCD need to take a step back and consider that the baseline of which you are judging against as "so much" - i.e. your baseline - is that you are dirty.

This was just a few months after January 6, which is when I knew law enforcement organizations had every interest in defending January 6 because that was how they would amass power. Police do not work for "the people." (Then, of course, Biden funded them anyways.)

A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.

the least shocking thing in the epstein files that wont get enough attention. police regularly arrest and charge victims to coerce them into participating, often jailing them in conditions that are worse.
jesus the Palm Beach Police really sought arrest warrants against underage Epstein victims for coming forward and cooperating, and (purported) admitting to crimes, and it caused the victims to become uncooperative with the federal investigation

In the 90 minutes since I posted this, I've gotten two more death notifications.

ICE has a responsibility to take care of these people, something they are clearly disregarding. This is beyond horrifying. We must ensure dignity and humanity for detained people in this country.

28 people have died in ICE custody since Trump took office. These facilities are overcrowded & are putting their own profits over health and safety. We need oversight & accountability NOW.
