So he’s saying all the tariff money we took in is gone and we won’t be able to pay it back. There was always a possibility he could lose this lawsuit and have to refund the tariff money. We didn’t prepare for that possibility? He’s running the govt like he ran his casinos.

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

This is Nikki Haley's son, Nalin. You've never seen him before. You have no idea who he is. This is the power of nepotism. He's on TV even though he has no charisma and what people in Japan call "the dick haircut." Fox News spelled his name right and her name "Hayley" on the chyron. PEAK.

The SS Edmund Fitzgerald was lost 50 years ago today — around the time Gordon Lightfoot was at work on a new album.

An experienced Great Lakes sailor who knew those waters well, he later told NPR he was surprised that media coverage gave “short shrift for such a monumental event.”

The Morehouse 2022-23 fact book says Morehouse that year had 12 non-resident alien (international) (international) undergraduate students, eight of whom were from Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.

It also said it had zero (0) Asian students.

Pro-Trump media went wild for a bombshell exposé claiming the Jan. 6th pipe bomber was a Capitol Police officer with CIA ties.

But now the story looks shaky, tweets are getting deleted, and the story's backers are running for cover. My @thebulwark.com newsletter: www.thebulwark.com/p/the-blaze-...

The right-wing outlet claimed to solve the Jan. 6th pipe-bomb mystery. Things quickly looked less certain.

Adam Corolla is the textbook example of why divorce protections are important for nonworking spouses - he used to brag routinely on his show about how his wife didn't have to work because he earned so much. It was a point of pride for him that she quit her job when they got married.
They used to wiretap your phones to collect this kind of information from you but now you pay for a Bluecheck and post it yourself

This is wild, just how LITTLE the NYPD shoots.

There’s a lot to criticize abt the NYPD, but this seems laudable.

It also seems aligned w another fact I don’t fully understand, that while ~80% of all homicides in the US are caused by a gun, in NYC it’s basically ~50%.

Is this what will happen? Govt will reopen, the vote in December will happen and fail, health subsidies will expire in January, and the govt will shut down again in January, at which point the middle class will be feeling the pinch?

The craziest part is that Republicans could’ve ended the shutdown on their own anytime they wanted. 50 senators is all it would take.

But they didn’t feel like it. Which is accepted as a premise, so fixing things becomes Democrats’ responsibility, and apparently enough Democratic senators agree.
