It’s been really striking how much the judges Trump appointed have ruled against him while the judges that rule in his favor are the ones appointed by the Bushes. Really says a lot about that era and how it’s been whitewashed.

Key takeaway: DOGE wasted tons of money, fired many excellent federal employees and destroyed vital programs. They have been dispersed into different agencies to protect them.
The "DOGE is gone" articles are clickbait but this one gets it closer to the truth: DOGE is not gone, it just claims to have "no centralized leadership" anymore -- in other words, its leadership is hiding in an attempt to avoid blame.
DOGE no longer has ‘centralized leadership’ under White House tech team, personnel head says
The team that was altered to house DOGE — formerly the U.S. Digital Service — is also still doing its own technology work across agencies.

The quote that DOGE "doesn't exist" is a quote Reuters got from OPM director Scott Kupor. But Kupor *is* DOGE.

Worth reiterating that what Trump tried to pull off with Halligan would, if successful, neutralize the Constitution’s appointments clause and allow him to install an endless series of insane and unqualified prosecutors without a single Senate vote. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Impeachment isn’t an option, it’s a necessity. I know firsthand the lengths Trump is willing to go in order to silence dissent.

Impeach, convict, remove. And if our current leaders won’t do it, they need to step aside for people who will: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo54...

Yeah I’ve done the math and if I were to monetize my X account I’d make like… a couple thousand dollars a year, if that? And to do so I’d have to destroy/dismantle a number of ethical barriers, so it’s just obviously not worth it. But a few thousand dollars is big money in many countries.
I had a popular account with a valuable audience and my Twitter payout was $80 a month-ish, to the point where I disabled monetization instead of uploading my ID. Payouts are only material if you live in a developing country, so “guy in Nigeria posting right-wing Amerislop” has taken over the site.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.
