Rebellions are built on Hope - Jyn Erso

As I oscillate between rage, depression, emotionless we must find our way back to hope. Hope for a better future.

The Washington Post published a clear video of federal agents removing Alex Pretti's handgun moments before he was fatally shot. There's nothing in the video to suggest Pretti even reached for his weapon.

Klobuchar: "Somehow 50,000 peaceful protesters in 10 below weather were able to march without any problems, and then the next day half a dozen ICE and CBP agents couldn't handle a guy with a cell phone taking video of them and shot him. I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here."

Any dem not committed to prosecuting these thugs and disbanding ICE is not a dem that should be voted for.
I wish Democrats would start just speaking the truth:

“ICE is killing American citizens in public for exercising their freedom of speech because Donald Trump wants to be a king.

This isn’t about immigration—Trump wants to make it illegal to oppose him, and to stay in power until he dies.”

It was an extrajudicial execution. Anyone who defends this is defending a police state.

CBS News is reporting that the ICE officers who killed Alex Pretti suffered internal injuries during the shooting.

Any democrat running for office not committed to defunding and prosecuting members of ICE should drop out now. We don't need more weak reps in office.

Voted for ICE funding
I’ll keep plugging away to make sure that Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars are being invested in an effective, durable, and responsible way.

The reality is that 2024 was a fundamental test of the moral character of the nation and we failed spectacularly. We’re living with the consequences now. Maybe we improve. I hope so.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

If Trump was going to be removed, he would have been removed by now.

But for Republicans, preserving power is more important than preserving the nation.

And for Democrats, preserving the polite rituals of government is more important than preserving the naton.

That's rough news for us, long-term.

60 Minutes to Midnight

Bari Weiss, the iron maiden of CBS, wants her team to be good troopers until Stephen Miller, hallowed be thy name, blesses each story with a quote. If I'd wasted years there, I'd run to the hills—or at least a network not owned by an Ellison of an Ellison.

We need to disband ICE and fire everyone who works there. I do not want them reassigned; I do not ever want any of them in a position of authority.

Choir, let me share a thought with you.

If justice for child rapists disrupts society, then society needed to be disrupted.

Oh, he's a job creator? Oh, the economy will suffer? Oh, the uncertainty? Oh, our whole political system?

If it's built on raping children, burn it all the fuck down.

Amen.

Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

It remains to be seen what happens in the Senate, but I will not vote in the House for a government funding measure that doesn't protect healthcare.

Without extending Affordable Care Act tax credits, millions will see health insurance costs double. Hardworking Americans just can't afford that.

Instead of folding like cheap chairs, Democrats should have forced the GOP to end the shutdown by killing the filibuster. Holding onto the archaic, antidemocratic tradition doesn't help them stop fascism, it makes them complicit to it.

Democrats Should Have Let Republicans Kill the Filibuster
Instead of caving on the shutdown, Democrats should have waited for the GOP to cave on Trump’s demand to scotch this antidemocratic tactic.

I interviewed Sen. Jacky Rosen 12 days ago. She talked about dignity and protecting people’s healthcare.

Then she voted to reopen the government with zero protections.

She can still change her vote.

@senjackyrosen.govpeeps.us—please honor your words. Protect healthcare.
