He/him. Calm on the outside. Museum developer, poet in my youth. Against fascism. Jaded but not disengaged. Appreciate why Titanic's band kept playing as the ship went down. Profile pic: Mo'ohtavetoo'o (Black Kettle), Southern Cheyenne peacemaker.

I want to help make a government that isn’t evil and works so well that you don’t really think about it
I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for in a politician but not having every day be a nightmare of horrors would be pretty high up so someone should run on that

People theorize that it’s for the oil, or is a blood-soaked distraction from the attention on the Epstein files, and probably one or both is true.

But I wouldn’t discount that he just wanted to do it.

When you’re sitting in a fire engine, you wanna turn on the siren, right? When you have an army…

At this point, the only thing working in America’s favor is Trump’s advanced age and abysmal health.

trump’s entire second term has been a year of him doing something incredibly illegal and democrats just going “he can’t do that!” and doing nothing to stop him.

The problem isn't that impeachment would likely fail in this Congress. The problem, as always, that Democratic leadership is using that as an excuse to try *nothing.*

Colombian President Gustavo Petro just went after Trump:

“A clan of pedophiles wants to destroy our democracy. To keep Epstein's list from coming out, they send warships to kill fishermen & threaten our neighbor with invasion for their oil."

Zero surprise from me.
If you’ve ever wondered what our U.S. service members would do when given an illegal order…now…you know. They all followed it.

We are so screwed.
Asked about the possibility of impeachment, Schumer says "we hope that we can have support from our Republican colleagues to put a brake on this long before it gets that far"

We should be all extremely concerned that Gaza and the West Bank has fallen off the news agenda.

Since the so called ceasefire Israel has killed 1000 Palestinians and banned over 30 well respected humanitarian orgs. Gaza is also grappling with flooding, high winds & extreme cold.

In 1999, Bill Clinton requested Congressional authorization to use military force in the NATO's Kosovo bombing campaign. The authorization failed on a tie vote (213-213).

Whatever you think of Bill Clinton, the reason he did that was because he was a U.S. President and not a tin-pot dictator.

I agree with average citizens asking "Where in the HELL is Congress???"

However.

I think it begs a more fundamental question: If on the crazy-remote chance Congress WOULD deny authorization, would Trump stop what he's doing? Because I don't think so.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they?

The 'wheels' were never fully on.
The USA has always resisted full application and commitment to Equal Rights And Liberty For All. There are always 'Exceptions' - and that is the poison which kills us from within.
Yes, elected officials — including establishment Democrats (no blame put on Progressives here) — have kept selling us the idea that our institutions are strong and will protect us. Bizarrely optimistic and untrue on its face. I'm only surprised that it took this long for the wheels to come off.

🧵 1/3

Whenever someone posts that Trump will postpone or cancel the 'next' election (whether they mean 2026 or 2028) someone invariably replies that he can't do that.

So what DOES it take?

The Constitution grants Congress the authority to choose the timing of the General Election...

The “peace” President has started a war.
He'll start a war to:

1. Distract from the Epstein Files
2. Steal oil
3. Justify emergency powers
4. Justify use of the AEA for deportation/internment
5. Help the drug lord he just pardoned
