The official Bluesky account for Congressman André Carson of Indiana's 7th District. Fighting for you.
Kwanzaa is a time many people around the world celebrate their ancestors and acknowledge the African American values of unity, self-determination, collective responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.

Merry Christmas! May this season bring you joy and peace.

The president has ended protected status of Ethiopians, Haitians, and Somalis and will deport thousands — including children who grew up in the US. Many will be forced to return to countries still experiencing armed conflict and instability. This decision puts lives at risk.

UPDATE: We now have enough signatures to vote on extending Affordable Care Act tax credits and lower health care costs. Health care should be a human right, not a financial burden.

Speaker Johnson must bring this legislation to the floor for a vote NOW.

Today I asked the FAA Administrator about DOGE’s short-sighted cuts to grant funding for aviation projects, including upgrades for the solar farm at the Indianapolis Airport. This grant should not have been terminated and I've urged the Administrator to review and restore this funding.

These violent threats from my colleague in the House of Representatives are vile and dangerous, and we all have a responsibility to call it out.

A sitting Member of Congress openly endorsing violence against millions of American Muslims is wrong.

As families around the world pause to celebrate Hanukkah, we remember those hurt by the deadly attack at Bondi Beach and reaffirm our commitment to fighting antisemitism. May the light outshine the darkness. Happy Hanukkah.
December 16, 2025 at 12:05 AM
My thoughts are with the victims and families impacted by the deadly attack at Bondi Beach as members of the Jewish community gathered to observe Hanukkah. No one should fear coming together to celebrate their faith.

A majority of Hoosiers didn’t agree with this unfair map. Hoosiers do things very differently. We don’t like being told what to do by DC insiders.

God is good. To anyone who has wondered if prayer, calling your elected officials, showing up to rallies, and speaking out is effective, let this be confirmation that yes, the people have power.

I introduced the Bipartisan SAFE Drugs Act with Rep Rudy Yakym to protect patients from untested, unapproved, and potentially dangerous mass compounded drugs. Our bill will enhance transparency and give the FDA the resources they need to keep families safe.
December 10, 2025 at 6:01 PM
It’s clear that these proposed Congressional maps were drawn by someone who doesn’t know the first thing about our state. Hoosiers don’t want mid-decade redistricting and won’t stand for it.
December 9, 2025 at 5:11 PM
My office assists with securing Medicare, Social Security, and veterans’ benefits, plus connecting families in need to local resources.

Redistricting puts these services at risk.
December 8, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Indiana's mid-decade redistricting would break apart communities and weaken the voice of voters. Hoosiers deserve fair maps and transparency that puts people first, not DC insiders.
December 5, 2025 at 9:20 PM
My office provides essential services to Indianapolis residents, from securing housing, Medicare and Social Security benefits, and connections to local services.

DC consultants came up with a new congressional map that makes no sense for our state.

•Indianapolis would go from 2 districts to 4
•Rural counties would have to share their rep with Indy
•Indy would get fewer resources and services — and so would rural areas.
December 2, 2025 at 10:02 PM
It’s clear DC consultants who don't know the first thing about Indiana drew this map. These districts:

🕑span 2 different time zones
🚗would take 3 hours to visit your congressperson's office—which your tax dollars pay for.
December 2, 2025 at 5:57 PM
Hoosier values matter more than DC threats and bullying. Splicing our state’s largest city—and its biggest economic driver—into four parts is ridiculous. It’s clear these orders are coming from Washington, and they clearly don’t know the first thing about our community.

Indianapolis is home to many thriving small businesses. This Small Business Saturday, consider supporting at a small business. When we shop locally, it boosts our local economy and supports entrepreneurs.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving! May this be a time to come together in gratitude and kindness.
November 27, 2025 at 3:45 PM
Thanksgiving is a time to gather, not worry about high grocery costs. Under the Trump administration, prices continue to increase and people are feeling it. Working families deserve better.

I’m proud to represent Indianapolis—which means representing our community’s needs.

No one should have to worry about heat in the winter. IndyEAP offers assistance with energy bills for eligible Marion County households. Go to indyeap.org to check eligibility.

Thank you to the bold students from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School for writing to me about the importance of protecting immigrant communities. Your voices matter, and our future is bright with leaders like you. I will continue working to ensure fairness and opportunity for all.

The temperature is high on calls for political violence — including threats coming from the president.

As a previous target myself, I am gravely concerned. Threats and bullying are no way to handle political issues.
