I hope Schumer is next. His embarrassing non-endorsement is just yet another example of how completely out of touch party leadership is and has been. Make way. We do not have time to wait.

If anyone needed another reminder of how deeply unpopular the Trump-MAGA Republican agenda is, tonight was the night.

But we cannot relent and we cannot become complacent.

The midterms are right around the corner.

Whoa
The Mabuhay, “the cauldron where punk rock began in SF,” shuttered decades ago. On Friday, Oct 3 it reopens with a show headlined by Kelley Stoltz. What happens when you try to build something new on sacred musical ground?

My favorite time of getting yelled at to get on the sidewalk was on Bike to Work day, when I was literally waiting at a light under a street banner promoting Bike to Work day. 🙄
Also love when people yell to get on the sidewalk. Just another indicator that drivers don’t actually care about cyclists following the law, they just can’t fathom being momentarily inconvenienced

As someone who fought for a few years to get protected bike lanes on Hopkins, hearing about a middle schooler getting hit on his bike, on Hopkins, while leaving school is agonizing to see. I’m glad he wasn’t more seriously injured.
Bike safety advocates are calling for accountability after a driver struck a child in a crosswalk outside a Berkeley middle school. But the primary issue wasn't the driver behind the wheel, they say, but another driver who had parked in a nearby red zone.
After boy hit in crosswalk, school red curbs top of mind
The crash happened Monday at about 3 p.m., at Hopkins Street and Colusa Avenue, as King middle school was letting out.

In addition to all the other things that are great about biking, I love the excuse to ignore all my screens & devices. I don’t even want to see a bike GPS or odometer. F*** a “productivity zone”, I’m busy living.
Mercedes-Benz is teaming up with Microsoft to turn your cabin into a productivity zone, with Teams meetings on your dashboard, voice-activated AI for email summaries and seamless access to business logins and calendars.

They call it your third workplace.

"Frontier Valley would establish a precedent that any corporation with sufficient resources and political connections can write its own laws, seize public resources, and create quasi-sovereign territories."

Truly nuts, but the techbros are serious.
Heads up San Francisco Bay, here comes the Network State again!

A startup founded by a Trump supporter seeks a presidential declaration of an AI “emergency” to create a new California tech city.

Yeah, it's that weird. More at the Nerd Reich:

One reason the feds aren't discussing the situation & planning with state/local resources is because they aren't allowed to do so. Seeing it all laid out in this article is bracing.

We are already well behind the curve & stand no chance of getting ahead of the 2025 fire year. Prepare accordingly.
