ICYMI: the privatization of public space for the benefit of millionaires continues apace

Possibly my least popular opinion (which is saying something) is that any vehicle larger or heavier than a Honda Odyssey should require a separate license class with rigorous and regular testing

Important: At my direction, @nashville.gov has allocated $750,000—and the Titans have contributed $250,000
—to an Emergency Winter Housing Assistance Program to help people impacted by Winter Storm Fern with housing payments.

Let’s keep people in housing.

“Living in America” isn’t some special award that we have to dole out carefully. It’s not a prize or a gold medal. It doesn’t hurt me to have neighbors like Liam Ramos. These people are such stupid freaks.
Gonzales on Liam Ramos and his family: "They're not gonna qualify for asylum. So what do you do with all the people that go through the process and do not qualify for asylum? You deport them. I understand that 5-year-old and it breaks my heart. I also think, what about that 5-year-old US citizen?"

This shows up anecdotally in Nashville’s pedestrian fatalities, too, and it’s at least partially driven by our exclusionary land use. Cruel, avoidable, intentional. Fixing it is a moral imperative.
New paper finds that US bike deaths have "trended toward lower-density suburban areas" rather than central cities

Those killed tend to be poor and non-white.

Lesson: The suburbanization of poverty could be contributing to the surging number of cyclist fatalities.

There are only 2 real responses to housing scarcity. You can either build enough homes to accommodate everyone or start drawing up a list of “undesirable demographics” to exclude. I know which side I’m on.

Nothing underlines the dichotomy between “wears cowboy hats” and “bought a cowboy hat as a bit” more than being at the airport after a beef cattlemen convention

It’s kind of great to me that leftists are like okay fine, let Spanberger cook and centrists are deciding to make common cause with Zohran. Good things are possible.

Why does it feel like they want obesity to be associated with inferior genetics or a lack of patriotism or something. Vaguely fash/eugenecist vibes but I can’t quite put my finger on it

I want to drive the mini snow plow
Oh and we absolutely have mini snow plows to do snow removal from bike lanes in Boston. Again this is from years ago (December 2020) as we haven't had much snow in recent years

This is from a walk audit on Cummins Highway. Most pedestrians were using the bike lane as the sidewalks weren't clear

When Nashville gets a Super Bowl, we should negotiate that whatever pedestrian improvements they make are left as permanent
The Super Bowl has led to an appropriate number of bollards being deployed in San Francisco.

Should be like this all the time, imo.
