Today as we wake up, more than 90% of power restorations have been completed for those who lost power, @metroschools.bsky.social is open, and volunteer opportunities continue to emerge for the recovery.

We’ll keep pushing till everything’s on.

United Way has partnered with the Airbnb Foundation to enable free emergency stays to Nashvillians impacted by the storm. To access these accommodations call 211 or text your zip code to 898-211.

* Nashville Waste Services is resuming trash collection today, where possible.
* Nashville Public Library will reopen multiple locations at 10am. (Still closed: Downtown, Donelson, Inglewood, North, Southeast, and Watkins Park branches)

We’re still making progress—and expanding capacity—as we restore power, clear roads, and remove trees.

The Fairgrounds is set up for overnight shelter, and Southeast Community Center, Madison Community Center, and the Nashville Fire Dept training academy are also available as warming locations in addition to every police precinct (except Central and East) and fire station.

Please stay warm and safe.
Anyone needing transportation to a warming station can call 615-401-1712. (Be prepared to share your name, location, number of people needing transportation, special needs or mobility concerns, and whether you’re bringing pets.)

If things get dangerously cold with no power, you can consider going to one of our warming locations.
NFD and MNPD are opening all Nashville Fire Stations and Metro Nashville Police Precinct Community Rooms, except for the Central Precinct and the East Precinct, as warming locations for residents affected by the current cold weather.

These locations will be open 24/7 until further notice.

Taking stock of a dangerous situation w/ lots of ice overnight. Biggest immediate issues are down trees taking power lines down with them and blocking roadways.

Call 615-234-0000 to report power outages, 311 or @hubnashville.bsky.social for non-emergencies, and 911 for life-threatening emergencies.

A significant, long-duration winter storm will bring widespread heavy snow, sleet, & freezing rain to a large part of the U.S. through Monday. Widespread travel disruptions, prolonged power outages, and vast tree damage is likely.
