THIS is why we do it. "Ms. Elaine" (in her 80s) was stuck in her home with no power since Sunday - cold and scared. We got a call to check on her. Got her transportation to a church member's home where she's safe, warm & getting soft cuddles from "Bruce" who welcomed her in. #HopeAndHelp

Mayor O’Connell update: Power has been restored to more than half of affected Nashvillians, and NES crews are working around the clock.

If you’re without power, warming centers and shelters are open with hot meals and support. Transportation help: 615-401-1712.

NFD and MNPD are opening all Nashville Fire Stations and Metro Nashville Police Precinct Community Rooms, except for the Central Precinct and the East Precinct, as warming locations for residents affected by the current cold weather.

These locations will be open 24/7 until further notice.

Taking stock of a dangerous situation w/ lots of ice overnight. Biggest immediate issues are down trees taking power lines down with them and blocking roadways.

Call 615-234-0000 to report power outages, 311 or @hubnashville.bsky.social for non-emergencies, and 911 for life-threatening emergencies.
