1st of all lmao

2nd, unless something has changed since I worked for Bux, ppl who work at locations inside of Targets/other stores don’t get the employee benefits (like health insurance) of ppl who work at regular locations.

that’s what this campaign is directing traffic to during the strike.
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

Specifically all of the Black and Trans writers
Infuriating to think that in just two months, Conde Nast's Vanity Fair hired Nuzzi while Conde Nast's Vogue absorbed and neutered Teen Vogue, laying off a number of talented writers who can write, and think, circles around Nuzzi.

I understand that many people want the AI bubble to burst but I promise we do not want to rerun 2008 it sucked real bad

bodily autonomy is a fundamental human right & we should treat anyone opposed to it as advocating for slavery because that is the inevitable end result of any ideology that seeks to control humans without consent.

there are quite a few white folks who vividly recall and rather miss Jim Crow alive and voting in this country right now
I honestly don’t see how anyone can see it any other way if they are honest. Jim Crow was only ~60 years ago! Are we really pretending that the insane racism just suddenly disappeared? This is to say nothing of the hundreds of examples we all have of seeing casual racism in everyday life

Hi, it's me again. I'm reposting this today because a whole lot of people who saw this yesterday told me they appreciated it.

Know this: I believe in you. If you need permission to have some quiet space for yourself, here it is. <3
Hi. It's me. I'm here to gently ask if you've been giving yourself grace? Patience? Self-care?

You've got this. You are enough, and you deserve all the good things.

as a white liberal with Southern roots, quite frankly, I think other white liberals from the South need to get the fuck over their oddly defensive attitude about what should be pretty blindingly obvious.
I understand why some white liberals from the Deep South want to insist that there isn't something distinct (and bad) about Southern political culture but the problem with this is that we wouldn't even have this idea of "The South" as distinct from the rest of the US if there wasn't a there there

Im working on a community too (not quite open but hoping in the next day or so).

Follow @wyldwish.bsky.social

Got my steam up front & center there. Just let me know who you are so I dont ignore the request! (I dont allow randos access to abuse me)
This shit is why I'm moving my socialization to steam. If I'm not going to be able to talk to and interact with the people that I choose to, why the fuck am I on a social media website?

when people talk about male loneliness as an issue (or a non-issue, depends who's talking) I can never tell if they mean men not getting laid or men not having friends. I feel like it's used pretty interchangably. personally I don't get lonely because I have carved my heart into an altar to myself

I am hearing there’s even more going on over there.

Much love to the writers there, this industry is brutal and I hope you land on your feet.
Today, Paste Magazine shuttered all its non-music verticals, a choice I am both professionally and personally heartbroken about. Sadly, I am once again looking for a place that wants to let me write about Books and TV on the regular, so hit me up if that’s you or anyone you know.

uhhh yes please come for the dangerous and uneccesary 0-60mph times
China has banned calling your car self-driving when it isn't, a ban on slick door handles that don't work in emergencies is in the works, and now it's coming for rapid 0-60 times, as it seeks to destroy every last one of Tesla's "innovations."

Editing has been conspicuously absent from the Substack era, but I also think that market pressures are making good editing harder to come by even at established outlets. Layoffs mean that one editor now has to publish dozens of pieces every week, and that means she has less time to spend on each.
Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.

This thread. I think it's incredibly important to remember that the TERF fragility/rabidity started to take off right around the height of me too, and the main message they had was "men are inherently violent."

They targeted trans WOMEN, while at the same time excusing actual violence from cis men.
MeToo was intentionally co-opted by the type of 'feminist' that berates and abuses people for not conforming to gender, while insisting that a uterus makes a woman...

This idea that #metoo was a temporary piece of insanity that happened because America was too woke...

Fuck you. It was a temporary moment in time when people decided, for the first time, that 20 women were finally equal to one man.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3
