Sundays are for MTB coaching! It's the best youth sport to coach because we are riding the same trails as our students. Can't do this job from the sidelines!

Cataract Trail, in the Mt. Tam watershed, above Alpine Lake. About 6 miles out and back, lots of vertical, dog friendly, and mostly tree covered. Oh yes, lots of waterfalls.

My header photo (shown below) is the fire perimeter map from the 1923 Berkeley Hills fire that destroyed over 600 homes in Berkeley. This fire started in Wildcat Canyon east of Berkeley, and burned westward due to our hot and dry Diablo winds that occur here in the fall.
