My MiL became deaf but refused to acknowledge it. She developed Alzheimers. None of her siblings have. So as Dr Grey points out deafness is a big factor. NZ has high rates of rheumatic fever, esp for Maori & Pasifika, which causes heart damage. It's linked to poor housing & overcrowding.

I’d be happy if some of the uber rich in NZ left. They disturb the peace, aren’t Living Wage Employers, throw $$ at political parties to remove regs, workers rights, safety&conditions. They continue taking more when they have enough while impoverishing people & communities. #nzpol #CallTheirBluff
