Lots in the comments are in their feels about the word “performative “. In this situation it is a positive word. A needed thing to stop tyranny. That is the crux of this post. It can also be used to established some sort of moral superiority. Don’t be that person.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

That's today's docket. There's so much that could be said. Fuck judges, fuck the theatre of it all, fuck prosecutors, fuck every single person who helps keep folks locked up and traumatizes people on behalf of the state. Fuck ICE. The whole damn system is guilty as hell. Today was an angry day.

Not only does ASA Vescio show up late, she also refuses to convert the habeas petition into a bail review on the basis of indictment being a change in circumstance. Judge Schreiber notes that this is constantly done, but agrees with her and also refuses to convert the habeas into a bail review.

Case 5: This case was postponed from Wednesday because ASA Vescio did not show up to do her job yet again. She was here earlier, but now has left, meaning she’s not present for this case at this time.

Case 3: A person in a fight where both parties ended up in the hospital. When Judge Schreiber asks ASA Crowley if the case will be indicted, he cannot give an answer either way, but says if it is, the trial will not be until at least March 2026.

Judge Schreiber had the chance to interrupt the cycle of trauma for this man, but all he did was interrupt attorneys. See our article from November 2022 about the unchecked power of judges and their discretion: baltimorebeat.com/the-power-of...

Must be nice to just not show up for your job. Can ASAs be issued FTAs since they spend so much time talking about not showing up to court being a sign of dangerousness?
Judge Schreiber did not hear any cases yesterday because no prosecutors showed up to do their jobs.

At 8:46am, 16 minutes after the beginning of the docket, Judge Schreiber asked to postpone 2 cases to the afternoon docket.

Here we fucking go again. The Banner is reporting that benzodiazepines are "often" found in Baltimore's drug supply, which is FALSE.

They cite "state testing" without providing the data. I've already reported on the RAD data — it shows benzos are very rare in local test samples.
