As an author, I don't make a whole lot of money, but at the same time I need to read a lot of books to stay aware of trends and support my fellow authors. Obviously if I spend all my profits on other people's books, I'm not coming out ahead!

So: ways to read lots of indie books for cheap.

Apparently D2D won’t approve an epub with images containing text in it. One of the stories in “Memento Moreau” is heavily reliant on an advertisement and graphs… so once it launches on Friday, it will only be available on Itch.io and Ko-fi.com. Oh well, better platforms anyway IMO. 📚💙

Writing Tip:
If you're writing a dramatic scene, listen to some dramatic music! Get yourself in the right mindset. If you're writing a sad scene, pick that piece of music that somehow brings you to the verge of tears. If you don't have something like that, find one!

Writing Tip:
If you're feeling brave, try some poetry or song lyric writing! It's a lot harder than it looks. You begin to appreciate the written word a lot more once you're extremely limited in word count and need to focus on things like rhymes and syllable count.

#TressoftheEmeraldSea by #BrandonSanderson has a lighter more comedic tone despite the action sequences definitely landing more Adult. If you've bounced off of Sanderson books before like I have, this one stuck for me. I think it's a good mostly singular story with a fun worldbuilding idea. 📚💙
