The city has plenty of empty real estate that it could convert to locked treatment. Which doesn’t even work. They are closing two incredibly successful programs and replacing them with a proven failure. It’s fucking criminal.

This is so sad. My mom was the primary parent but I have such good memories of both my parents reading to me (it’s one of the ways I knew my dad loved me.) And I love reading to my toddler. My mom saved a bunch of books from when I was little so I’m reading her the same copies from 30+ years ago.

Lol got a very unenthusiastic email today from HR that the new billionaire mayor of San Francisco wants all the department of public health employees who currently work hybrid schedules to come back to the office (no reason given.) I hope the unions fight the shit out of him.

As always, my only quibble is with the day count. It simply cannot be correct. Surely it is months, or years. 34 days is laughable and I do not accept it.

His name is on the fucking public hospital in San Francisco and my rage cannot be contained. When we (again!) start to have meetings about what to do if/when ICE shows up, I hope the people who put his name on the building for $75 million volunteer for the front line (they absolutely will not.)

Just thinking about how in my ten years as a psych nurse I have never felt the need/desire to respond to any of my patients with violence. And how if I had, I would have absolutely been held accountable in some way. Jordan Neely should be alive and Daniel Penny should be facing consequences.
