Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

Are you human? It's no longer enough to check that box. You now need to prove your humanity by showing that you can write a non-AI way. At least in this game that my PhD student Maria Edwards built based on our joint design. Curious? Try nonslop and see if you can write nonslop!
My account is suspiciously blank. You may think I'm a bot.
I'm not, but I'm pointing you towards one.
An academic experiment/game where an AI judges your writing.
It does not like you.

Vince Gilligan on AI:

“AI is the world’s most expensive and energy-intensive plagiarism machine. I think there’s a very high possibility that this is all a bunch of horseshit. It’s basically a bunch of centibillionaires whose greatest life goal is to become the world’s first trillionaires.”

The question isn’t "why does Signal use AWS?" It’s to look at the infrastructural requirements of any global, real-time, mass comms platform and ask how it is that we got to a place where there’s no realistic alternative to AWS and the other hyperscalers. 3/

Apropos
This is a very good clip of Guillermo del Toro on the value of art. The value of human-made art is, in part, based on what the artist experienced that made them want to make the art. That is what we pay for. That is what AI does not have.
