We see this lack of vision in Canada as well, where Mark Carney is set on implementing the conservative bromides (smaller government, deregulation) of a bygone era, with no actual creative governance proposals at the domestic or international levels on offer.

I have always wondered.
it was fun to read this piece and think about all the praise and acclaim sullivan has received for being a sharp, clear thinker. it makes you wonder what the hell those people were talking about?
My god he has fully lost his mind

Canada: Health Canada won't fight Alberta's plan to charge for COVID vaccines.

"Starting this fall, most of Alberta's 4.8 million residents will need to pay out of pocket for COVID vaccines, if they choose to get them"

Cost per vaccine not stated; CDC estimates about $110 each.

"It's never the crime, it's the cover-up"—but sometimes it's both. Many reasons Bill C-2 should be DOA, but a key one is how GoC is using it to sneak problematic 'cybercrime' treaty provisions into our laws, before even publicly deciding if we should be part of those treaties in the first place.

Imagine if all these countries spent 5% of their GDP on actually addressing climate change, or on global health, or on ending poverty. But no. War it is, as always.

This is a travesty & a nightmare. The US was a founder of @gavi.org. It lowers global vaccine costs, has vaccinated 1B children, & averted 19M deaths. This pull out will cost 100s of thousands of children's lives a year - and RFK Jr will be personally responsible.

There was an old tweet that stuck with me: "If you can easily walk to the coffee shop but your barista has a one hour commute, you don't live in a walkable 15 minute city; you live in a theme park"
as someone who lives nextdoor to both supportive housing and public housing, i need people to understand that the best locations for both are going to be the central neighborhoods in a metropolitan area, where there is easy and reliable access to services and jobs.

The Ag Committee's part of the Reconciliation Bill raises the SNAP work requirement age for able-bodied adults without dependents from 54 to 64. It also changes the definition of "dependent child" from under 18 years to under 7 years old to determine "Able-bodied adult without dependents."

Also they should have social security numbers and get welfare. Come on. It is literally called welfare. You're saying you think humans should not collectively care for one another due to the absence of some paperwork. This is failing grade 1 of morality school.
