No need to look to complicated and misguided conspiracy theories, look at how the powerful speak to each other.

"I enjoyed doing the pedophilia with you. It was one of my favorite things to do. I am the CEO of a major company."

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

It doesn't matter that they always do this. I'm still furious with these cowards. We may not deserve better, but we need to make it so we have better. Disgusted.

This are just some errant thoughts I've been chewing on. Something about the current iteration of personal computing really chaffs at me. When GUIs were first introduced there was this thing called the "desktop metaphor" and it was created to ease the masses of non-computer users into using it.

this is gaslighting, plain and simple. No, it's not the worker producing workslop, it's the fucking AI!
Research: low productivity gains from AI may stem from employees using AI to produce "workslop", or low-effort, passable work that creates more work for others (Harvard Business Review)

EARHARDT: We have radicals on the right as well. How do we fix this country?

TRUMP: I'll tell you something that's gonna get me in trouble but I couldn't care less. The radicals on the right oftentimes are radical because they don't want to see crime. The radicals on the left are the problem.

Are a large number of people still using Twitter Spaces or Clubhouse? I feel like all the dickhead CEOs who were on them constantly pivoted to slickly produced, boring podcasts. This of course was inevitable for the same reason I loved Twitter when it launched and why they hated it.

There’s an enormous amount of stuff in this book I’d like to highlight, but start with:

“What emerges as the most elementary insight is that, since we do not now have any ways of making computers wise, we ought not now to give computers tasks that demand wisdom.”

continue to think that a major issue is the extent to which too many elected democrats are mentally captive to the politics of the 1980s and 1990s in ways that leave them unable to try new things
It is true that government shutdowns have never worked as tools of extortion. But that is not what the pro-democracy movement is asking Dems to do. And moreover, Democrats are making their calculations on the basis of false conventional wisdom. www.offmessage.net/p/gut-check-...

As end-of-empire scenarios go it is so much more dignified to get your capital city sacked by the Visigoths than to have a bunch of illiterate rich people in their 70s doing it through a series of incomprehensible tantrums because their brains were defeated by their phones.
