it's the queer fans my heart really breaks for. so many queer kids & young ppl, including trans kids, found positive messages in the books and acceptance (some for the first time) in the hp fan community
I pity the fans to be honest. I genuinely have never liked the franchise but I know all kinds of fans of all stripes and it's heartbreaking to see people who have gotten real positive stuff out of something get the leg swept like that.

humans' first instinct is to program intelligence in a "top-down" hierarchical style, to mimic our perception of how our own minds work. AI, androids, etc. this plus the ability to interact/experience the world may be enough to make a conscious intelligence
