Overall, this big @nytimes.com investigation identified $500m+ that was donated to Trump-backed groups AFTER the election from 346 donors.

It found that more than half of the donors have benefited in some way from actions by Trump or his administration. (gift link)

The story is insane. The acting head of cyber security, a Noem crony, repeatedly demanded to see highly classified information he didn’t need access to, and when staff set up a lie detector test as a condition to grant him access, he failed it. So DHS suspended the staffers.

Flood watches continue for the North Bay into Monday… and it’s likely we could see more around the Bay Area with two more storms on the way this week. What could be different about them though is the wind, with two areas of low pressure rapidly strengthening near the California coast. 12/21/2025

Most of SF has power back but I’m prepared for it to go out again because PG&E left a voicemail saying they’re rerouting power from other areas while they address and fix whatever the fuck happened today 🫠

So glad they continuously hike our prices and we have no other options for this utility!

Chrysalis did not enclose today, but neat to notice that while the chrysalis turned black the gold trim is still there.

The gold trim on a monarch butterfly chrysalis isn’t real gold but proteins arranged in microscopic ridges that reflect and scatter light, producing interference that creates the shiny gold appearance. #PhotonsDoCoolThings #monarchbutterfly
