Many autistic people grow up correcting assumptions, defending intentions, and trying to repair misunderstandings

So yes - we may “over-explain” or “overthink”

Not because we want to…

but because experience taught us to

Feeling much gratitude generally to the FOSS community and specifically to the folks responsible for jsymphonic ❤ Have just added more running songs to my player for the first time in years, and didn't even have to fuck about with a WinXP VM in order to do it!

Dear autistic community,

May this new year be filled with:

- acceptable textures
- sufficient executive function
- people who don’t say “but everyone’s a bit autistic”
- instructions that are actually complete
- being believed the first time ❤️

I don't know who needs to hear this, but opposing GenAI is not about opposing technology, it's about opposing capitalists.

GenAI is not a technology: it's a massive automation of theft, masquerading as an industry, run by grifters.

Don't hate computers, hate the capitalists behind the curtain.

I promise I'll talk about something else soon but I'm so deeply deeply furious to see scientists playing around with genAI like it's no big deal, as if they do not know better than anyone else in the world how dire the climate situation is. I wish them a lifetime of shame.

Quote this with what you have accomplished in 2025, no matter how big or small
Reading & writing has kept me alive this year.

Somehow, it’s been my most productive year as an author.

Here’s a guide to what I’ve published in 2025, in case you’ve lost track.

not just in art, either, there are guys who would go around obsessively fixing every clogged pipe in a 10-mile radius if they had the free time and social infrastructure to do so

I have always said it, I will continue to say it, we are limiting the productive potential of millions of freaks by demanding they earn a wage to survive instead of enabling them to do whatever thing their brain is broken for

they didn't need AI to make Silksong, it just needed some deeply insane guys to have a blank check for living expenses until their next thing was done, I think we should try doing more of that instead

This disastrous institution still abuses children. Of course they will try to escape.
It should have been shut down years ago.

My dad also does very lovely landscapes. I'm especially fond of this Peak District scene which he painted in the 80s while working as a supply teacher in rough Nottingham schools and dreaming about escape.

One of the best things you can do for neurodivergent people when giving instructions is incredibly simple:

✨ Write. Them. Down. ✨

Clear written instructions aren’t just helpful - they’re accessibility

One of my fundamental beliefs is that I should not have to talk to people who have been cruel to me. You might be surprised to learn how often -- and vociferously -- people disagree with me about that.
