@talkingpointsmemo.com I don't want to be overly negative, but I'm not a fan of the apparent redesign of the front page and site. It's aggressively unaesthetic.

@puzzmo.com The website says "Gift a Subscription for $29". Clicking the button leads to a checkout that lists the price as $39. Which is it?

@ap-trevor.bsky.social Any comment about the capitulation by College Board and retreat from its commitment to lifting up ALL students? Is the AP Program specifically planning on following the corporate concession?

Just a reminder: There is no United States Department of War. The Department of Defense is established by law, and no President -- not even a toddler-king one -- can simply change it. Trump's executive order is essentially a command to the executive branch to give the DoD a nickname.

January 6 was a violent insurrection, not a peaceful protest.

Just posting this periodically to make sure we remember.

I believe Trump when he claims he's trying to tackle violent crime in the Capital. He's just 1678 days late.

Does she know this is what Californians dream of?

Age verification? I remember when Donald Trump was only known and hated in New York.

I'm not generally a fan of the Big Blue Boy Scout, but these day are making me reconsider.
Do we still need stories about an aspirational immigrant who's so devoted to his adopted country that he regularly puts himself in danger to help even those who fear and distrust him, and who's primary antagonist is an egotistical tech billionaire?

Yes, fucking obviously. You numpties.

Excellent resource. We too often leave people in the weeds and then scoff when they don't understand. Tariff policy sounds like it is complicated but this boils it down nicely.

This is a very important point. Breathlessly vague headlines and summaries of these executive orders created for the executive powers it does not have. This kind of press contributed to authoritarian regime change.
It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.
