It’s wrong to lump all top Trump people in one category. There are differences among them. But they do seem to fall into three (sometimes overlapping) categories:

• Ordinary criminals (grift and corruption).

• Sex criminals.

• War criminals.

Important thread on the crisis in academia
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

A mayoral candidate saying maybe the city should cover the cost of bus rides gets the full socialism panic treatment before he even tries it.

A sitting president taking billions of dollars worth of shares in private companies gets “I must say, a tad unusual” after it’s been going for nearly a year.

'If they're not gonna run the programs, then what are we paying them for?' This is where the rubber hits the road. Our states need to pull fed income taxes into our capitals first, then negotiate with the feds the terms of in-payment to the IRS.
oh yeah she also gave a nod to the idea of withholding federal taxes, an idea that Very Serious People in Trenton universally derided when progressive Assemblywoman-elect Katie Brennan proposed it uh last month
a thousand apologies, gov-elect Sherrill, i was unfamiliar with your game

Democrats ready to reopen the government on a promise of a vote to save Obamacare subsidies should remember: Republicans made the same promise on D.C. funding earlier this year. That vote never came. Thinking this time will be different is political delusion.

So unlike Jeff "Steroids" Bezos who was born into a life of wealth and privilege and from that perch built immense untaxed wealth and kingly privilege, including reducing a once-great newspaper into a ludicrous megaphone for his self-serving rubbish.

This should be a no-brainer, but of course it's anyone's guess how SCOTUS will actually rule.
“But if the court allows Trump…to declare that he alone can impose tariffs with emergency declarations in a way no president has done…it will be the latest example of the justices in the majority doing their part to create an imperial presidency.”

Trump says America’s economy will die without his tariffs. He’s crying wolf. - The Boston Globe
Lawmakers are urging the Supreme Court to declare Trump’s tariffs an illegal overreach of his authority. Will the justices agree?

So you should really watch this. Just 2 minutes. But a window into the truly radical nature of the people Trump is nominating.

When pressed today, the nominee to be Ambassador to South Africa refuses to oppose reinstituting laws to prevent black people from voting in America.

"Globalization skeptics often think of U.S. trade policy the
way Homer Simpson thinks of alcohol: as the cause of, and
solution to, all of life’s problems. The government's view of tariffs is no exception."

Well, Trump managed to do to the White House what al-Qaeda tried and failed to do on 9/11. Somewhere in Hell, Bin Laden is cheering Trump on. Time for independence for our states from the people who put Trump where he is.

My Trade Secrets newsletter today. Declare trade war on Friday, in full retreat by Sunday. Donald Trump's brought a knife (tariffs) to a gunfight (rare earths) with China. He's in a weak position and he's playing it badly.

ALSO: global steel trade and Argentina are in a mess. Aren't they always?
