A reminder for everyone but mostly me:

A lot of people will talk about the moral responsibility to stand up to bigoted relatives this holiday season. There's a lot of merit in that, but it ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT APPLY to victims of abuse.

You do not have to confront your abuser. It's not your job.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Even pirating Harry Potter lends the fandom legitimacy and currency.

People, big respected names, took joy in disclosing they were playing the game, to taunt trans people.

Don't be that person. Ignore it. Watch a better show, read a book that doesn't help fuel trans genocide.

I remember chatting to my dad about Corbyn, and he said that I shouldn't believe everything I hear from progressives, that politicians don't deliver what they promise. And I said that if they all don't deliver what they promise why shouldn't I vote for the guy who's at least lying in my direction
The important thing to remember about smug patronising headlines like this is that they aren't aimed at the "kids" they're theoretically addressing. They're aimed at their parents. www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...

Sometimes when you go listen to music that was popular in your youth, you rediscover things you loved or learn about something you would have enjoyed if you didn't grow up deeply evangelical

Other times you discover that a band you thought you liked has the most fedora coded lyrics of all time 😬

Recruitment for non profit programs right now is exhausting. We're being told we have to meet number goals that absolutely do not reflect the nation's slide into fascism and economic crisis. People can barely buy groceries and they're scared to leave the house, but that doesn't matter bc KPIs

Food, water and housing are basic human rights … yet many people will be struggling to keep a roof over the heads and food on the table with SNAP funding cut off.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is trying to ease the burden.

He’s paused evictions and water shut offs through Jan 31st 2026.

The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP.

They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown.

They’re refusing.

Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop.

Book exemption isn't saving tabletop RPGs from a tariff-borne collapse of creative possibility. Experimental form factors, even just a box of cards, will be tossed in favor of whatever costs studios the least at the CBP checkpoint.
Tariffs killed Magpie Games' trio of unconventional, card-based games, showing early hints of a long and cruel effect on the tabletop RPG side of the industry.
