Us extremely online communists were shouting about this years ago, and equally extremely online "trust everything the Democrats do" posters were accusing us of not understanding politics.
Biden: "I also learned something from Donald Trump. He signed checks for people. $7,400 for people because we passed the plan. I didn't -- stupid."

the nyt’s israel coverage has been written by israelis with kids in the idf
I was told explicitly by a top nyt exec, Carolyn Ryan, that the nyt would never hire a trans journo who’d ever covered trans issues. By her account, a trans journo versed in the issues is by definition biased. That is not ofc a standard the nyt applies to any other group or issue. (Nor should it)
I’ve been saying for years that sports newsrooms are wholly unprepared for this political moment. imo it’s journalistic malpractice not to have a writer on staff who can cover trans sports stories well. But I can’t even place freelance coverage at this point. It’s so bleak.

as someone who worked professionally in housing policy at a high level for many years, I have no idea what a "Yimby" is; as often as these words get tossed around in lay conversations, they just aren't meaningful terms (or group descriptors) in real policy discussions most places
"yimbys are right wing reactionaries"

"you can tell because they're against community engagement"

the community engagement: seventeen rich boomers screaming about how apartments bring crime

it's completely fine to murder the CEOs of evil companies like dogs in the street and liberals can't scold that moral reality into not being true

so does everyone, kiddo. Politics under terminal capitalism is just the process of shuffling the allocation of the vast number of murders necessary to "sustain the economy"
Counterpoint:

You think murder is sometimes justified.

Fuck you, sir.

I spent over a decade in a huge advocacy organization operating in every city and state in America, and contributing comparable amounts of campaign dollars to both parties as the healthcare industry.

Anyone who thinks it's a 'partisan' problem entirely misunderstands how our government works.
bro shut the fuck up, don't fucking do devil's advocate shit for an industry that is purely evil and entirely non-partisan in that pursuit. It makes you look like an asshole and no one thinks you're right or cool.

I hope the guy who did it never gets caught, but if it had happened before the election and he'd gotten caught/his name was circulated widely before ~mid-Sept, it would have been SO fun to see how many write-in votes for President he'd have gotten and where 🥰

you guys think it's occurred to the Harris campaign yet that if they'd had a healthcare CEO whacked and openly taken credit for it like six weeks ago, they'd have won in a landslide

No American of any political stripe will disagree with the following statement, only on who to punish and for what.

"No one is ever held personally accountable for the biggest crimes in society, the things we call 'systemic' - especially the people who are in charge of the relevant systems."
No shit murder is bad. The jokes about the United CEO aren’t really about him; they’re about the rapacious healthcare system he personified and which Americans feel deep pain and humiliation about

Trans people exist whether or not your political party believes it.
My guess is that a lot of trans people will be feeling a ton of stress and worry over SCOTUS today.

If you are a cis person, quote this and say why you support trans people and what you are willing to do to support us if the government comes for us.
