@captequinox.bsky.social and I are back at our Scary National Figure pumpkin attempts. Can you guess who this is without reading the alt text?

Does the second photo help? 😁

hey I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but - if you're using Chrome and you don't want this gross little AI Mode button to pop up in your address bar, paste "chrome://flags" into your address bar and search the flags for "AI Mode." find "AI Mode Omnibox Entrypoint" then you can just disable it!

Got a brochure asking for our house to vote for the current mayor.
It turned into a pretend diaper for the toddler’s stuffed kitty cat.

She knows about things that are full of 💩

I can't stop thinking about this because so much of the "benefits" of AI are for problems that could be resolved in other, more enjoyable & humane ways. Not having time to write an email or read a book has better solutions than getting a bot to do it for you for the illusion of having done it
It makes things EASIER?

WHY?

Why should things get “easier” THIS WAY?

Life could get easier by redistributing wealth?

“Its easier to just let my soul atrophy!”

A very scary bill just passed in Ohio for transgender folks. No one but local LGBTQ+ orgs are talking about it.

First, Ohio is only recognizing sex assigned at birth, male or female. You can get in trouble for stating otherwise on documents, I imagine. I may need to change my state ID back. 1/5

Amidst the many horrors in the world today, I'm contending with reality-shattering news about the abhorrent behavior of a (once-? still-? is that even possible?) beloved friend. Somebody out there must have written on processing.

Since people were asking about the words I shared today at the no kings protest, here's the full text. Thanks @indivistwincities.bsky.social and @mn50501.bsky.social.

Wrote it last week, but because it ended up being about how we carry grief and what we might do with it, it felt appropriate:
“no kings, all bricks”
