Me saying this will make no difference at all, but --
In tearing down AI (which we should do), I think some artists are starting to overgeneralize what the artistic experience is for all artists, and that's beginning to feel ACTUALLY gatekeepy towards those who struggle with art.

One of the roughest things for me to deal with lately is the furry folks whom I've trusted in the past with my full self and insecurities, who have later shown me that they were the wrong people to share that stuff with -- but who are very active at local furry events.

I'm not the only person who makes board games full-time but I am probably the only one who does it full-time making weird, abrasive, experimental zine-like board games w/ POD production values. That should not work; feels like I am getting away with something. And I do chalk it up primarily to luck.
Some close friends to be get a little frustrated in my tendency to priortise luck in my own career, as they know how I work. I try to explain that work just is buying a lottery ticket. It's necessary, but certainly not sufficient. I know many folks who've worked as hard but the dice have been cruel.

Great thread. The only thing I disagree with is the very, very last line -- despite people being stupid and willingly malicious, I can't wish suffering on them.
I've been thinking about the "I didn't vote for this" line from remorseful Trump voters, especially since my sister in law, who mocked and insulted my wife in January for being scared enough to leave the country, recently started in with the "this isn't what I voted for!" shit.

Honestly, this headset is *perfect* for the average user. Depending on price, this IS virtual reality designed for the masses, and it's a fantastic business decision in the current VR marketplace.
The sad thing is that that's exactly what can make it disappointing for power users.

What I'm learning from this steam announcement is that unless a headset is OLED has face tracking, eye tracking, cock tracking, 360 FOV, a 5090 built in, support base stations, full body tracking, a lovense mod.

I really would love if more art got credited to artists. Poster designs should all have their name on it, t-shirts should have the actual artist in the tag, people who repost stuff even just to their friends also sharing where they got it...
