i have a weird relationship with anime, rejecting it in early high school and having to catch up as an adult.
in art class 2010, there were 2 kinds of art kid: anime/realistic style.
i was a petty lil shit who couldn't stand when others didn't take my cartoons seriously, so i said NO to anime lol

Thinking about how bsky has the most horrible setting turned on by default that says "i don't want to see any other languages except English" and if no one tells you to put it on "no selection" you straight up won't see posts from people set to different languages on your TL.

when i was like 8 and learned about MLK and the civil rights movement, i was horrified.
i asked my parents why folks would be so prejudiced while people like dr king knew it was wrong. i was (angrily) told:
"you don't know what it was like back then, you would've done the same"

i'm feeling latin flavors for meal prep this week, so i'm making pollo guisado (puerto rican chicken stew) tonight!
i experiment all the time and i'm usually pretty confident using vietnamese ingredients, but puetro rican food is very very new to me. so wish me luck in this culinary venture 🤞
