Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

Gregg is a former Marine and Forest Service ranger. He's saved the lives of hikers dangling off a cliff or going through cardiac arrest, and he's bravely fought forest fires to save small rural towns.

100% of his salary is paid by WA state.

Elon fired him. Share his story.

The other big problem with using generative AI to help you write is that it makes you a huge fuckin loser
One danger of embracing generative AI as a learning device and in language assistance is that you're letting the keepers of that AI have power over what you learn and how you write. It will be programmed with biases, unintentional but often *quite* intentional, that you will unknowingly adopt.

You are MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.

If they threaten you with arrest for trying to access a site you are lawfully entitled to access, YOU MAKE THEM FUCKING ARREST YOU.

YOU MAKE THEM SLAP THE CUFFS ON A CONGRESSMAN LIVE ON TV, YOU MAKE THEM FUCKING DO IT.
Members of Congress say they were just denied entry to USAID headquarters on orders of Elon Musk and DOGE and were told to contact the State Department for any further information.

I'm sorry, but "they took over the whole federal payments system, fired the career staff, and won't let anybody see what they're doing" is not a situation in which you wait for more information. It's a situation in which you assume the worst. There's no explanation for it other than rampant crimes.

I may have engaged in another round of stress-baking. And I really wanted muffins, so…. They keep turning out really huge, but I think it’s partly the very large blueberries that I bought.

Swastika Night was published by an Englishwoman in 1937. Before the annexation of Austria, Kristallnacht, WW II. 12yrs before Orwell would pen 1984.

It’s set 600 years in the future of the Reich and it’s prescient AF.

Even in July, looking at Project 2025, it told me a lot at what we were seeing.

Over 50% of nonviolent movements to overthrow governments are successful within one year of their peak.

The key is to engage over 3.5% of the country, a cross-section of society—clergy, kids, grandmas, teachers) using DIVERSE & CREATIVE tactics, with women in leadership.

We can do this.

Misinformation is afire on the internet, so here are facts about the prison firefighter program, all in one place.

Castor- who did not appreciate this camera flash - was acting twitchy while Scott washed dishes. I said “what’s the matter, kitty? You’ve heard washes dished before.” And then just sat here with this brain. How’m I supposed to write a scene with a brain like this, I ask you.

It’s so funny and infuriating and here we are again. If a man had done everything she did, he’d definitely have a bigger part in the movie. Cripes.
This piece about Toshi Seeger in the new Bob Dylan movie is a hilarious explainer of the very Hollywood problem: “there’s a woman in this story that we can’t get rid of because she kind of ran everything so what can we possibly do?”

Reskeet this until it breaks. Then reskeet it again.

We need to flood Congress with phone calls TODAY to make sure they don't slip the dangerous and misguided Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) into a must-pass year end bill.

This bill would make kids LESS safe and threatens LGBTQ ppl & human rights.

Dems need to do more of this messaging if they want to make up lost ground: here's how Democrats, specifically, helped America today. Write it in 100 point font. Republicans throw themselves a parade every time they pass a wet fart
Starting in January, the out-of-pocket cost of prescription drugs, which sometimes costs seniors thousands of dollars a month, will be capped at $2,000 a year for those on Medicare.

This is a direct result of Democrats passing the Inflation Reduction Act.

murder is an awful answer for being a teenager buying Skittles, or for being a man rumored to have passed a fake $20, or for being a lady asleep in her bed, and yet here we all are
It’s so interesting to see these urgent exhortations to reestablish decorum. I have not seen evidence of a “coarsening” of American society. If anything, the opposite: I’ve seen thousands of individuals asserting their humanity and protesting the indignity of the system UHC profits from.
