Sarah Beckstrom's ex-boyfriend told NBC News she dreamed of becoming an FBI special agent.

She didn't want to deploy to D.C.

"She hated it. She cried about it."

But she started visiting monuments and museums and started enjoying it.

May she rest in peace.

My 2.5yo gave me a fright this morning. He was hollering. I walk into his room and he's in his crib with blood ALL OVER his face, shirt, hands/arms. 😱 Too much blood to clean with wipes, so to the bath we went..

He was OK! It was a nose bleed. But wow, man.

There are no words to describe what a loss this is to us, to Colorado, and to the country. Faith was a giant among those of us lucky enough to know her and work with her. May her memory be a blessing.
Longtime Colorado State Sen. Faith Winter (D-Broomfield) was killed in a crash on I-25 in Centennial tonight. Three other people were injured.

I went out for the Stupid Little Walk For My Stupid Mental Health, in the bright sunshine and cold wind, and it was most invigorating and pleasant and a good idea, yes. Well done me.

Also I bought snacks on the way home.

1) it's surprising bc we didn't even ask anymore, and 2) I guess at some point a little human understands the concept of being on a team 💗

It wasn't enough that Trump, on his first day in office, pardoned violent insurrectionists who stormed the US Capitol on January 6. He's now at it again—pardoning one of those same insurrectionists for TWO federal gun offenses.
Trump re-pardons a Jan. 6 defendant to erase unrelated gun conviction
The new pardon ends a legal clash over the limits of Trump’s sweeping Day One clemency for those who stormed the Capitol.

Colorado has made progress on gun laws to keep communities safe. But there’s still more work to do — including passing an assault weapons ban. When I’m elected Attorney General, I’ll work with our legislature to get it done.

Congress shielded gun companies from lawsuits. Some blue states like Colorado think they've found a loophole.
Since 2021, 10 states have passed laws intended to make it easier to sue gunmakers and sellers

One thing I learned writing this piece: ~1 in 8 Americans are on SNAP. Way more than I thought (and I grew up lower middle class and we had WIC when I was a kid, so think I had an above-replacement-level prior). “We saved SNAP” is good angle for Dems open.substack.com/pub/gelliott...
One way the shutdown deal might actually help Democrats
A plurality of voters approve of the deal to end the government shutdown. Democrats have an opportunity to claim they saved SNAP & other government programs, which could help repair the party's image
