I'm very happy with how this design ended up. Inking continues to be my weakness. I mixed the green too dark & had trouble getting it to show through. I'll have to do another set of prints. Listen to "The Kelpie" by Kiki Rockwell.

@aaron.bsky.team is it bluesky's official policy that downplaying child rape is journalism? why bring up that the person downplaying child rape is female? does this factor into bluesky's moderation?

The bill to end the shutdown kills FDA food safety rules.

Just like public health, food safety isn’t flashy or exciting

When it’s functioning well, you barely notice it.

But it’s necessary for our survival.

Food borne illnesses have been on the rise & this cut will endanger lives l
Shutdown Deal Kills Food Safety Rules
After lobbyists spent big on the Trump administration and Democratic defectors, the government funding bill cut food-contamination rules and limited ultraprocessed-food research.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

Do people remember that this same NYT reporter solicited a $30,000 donation from Jeffrey Epstein for a Montessori school and then got pushed out of the Times by Ellen Pollock shortly after?

And he refused to share Epstein's contact info with another NYT reporter assigned to do the piece about him.

IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2015
Landon Thomas Jr of the New York Times got told by Jeffrey Epstein that Trump walked into a glass door bc he was so busy staring at girls in Epstein's house and didn't print it. wild that the Times didn't consider that newsworthy.

It's so important to emphasize that this was 2011, before Trump was anywhere near politics. He was just some rich celebrity like all the other rich celebrities who palled around with Epstein. There was no reason for them to call him out specifically unless he knew more than most.

This is what I and a lot of people on here have been saying and I wish senate dems would just say it too instead of the weird combination of “actually this protects healthcare”, “I didn’t support it but now I’ll shill for it” and the angus king special of “I surrender here’s my tummy”
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.
