Every extra hour that ICE spends facing off with activists is an hour they can't spend kidnapping other people.

Every extra minute ICE has to spend contingency planning around activists and neighbors, every extra officer ICE has to put on a kidnap squad, is a drain on their efficiency.

Here’s some things that can be done by a party out of power

- file impeachment articles every day in the House

- withhold unanimous consent in the senate and filibuster every nominee

- be everywhere with comms saying this is lawless and impeachable

You can feel like something is inevitable and still experience shock. Many of us knew something like this would happen, bc things like this have already happened, bc law enforcement functions with impunity, bc ICE kept drawing its guns on observers. But emotional and moral shock can still occur.

I hope the people who bullied a trans woman today until she temporarily disabled her account take some time to think about priorities and power mapping.

Was this a great victory for your cause? Did this accomplish anything substantive towards goals that are important to you?
