What the Epstein files show is the *solidarity* of many men-across class, race, religion, profession & party affiliation-in the global political project of keeping the boot on women's necks.

People have no problem understanding class solidarity among the rich. Why can't they see gender solidarity?
Like I dunno, maybe the reason it took a lady to break open the story of all the men protecting the dude trafficking underage girls is because the male journos were all emailing him making jokes about it?

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

The government's creative storytelling must be addressed
Today, I'm happy to share a guest post from one of the best people I know. My dear friend Helen Gilby is so bright and so funny. And y’all loved her last posts, Seymour's Aotearoa: How to Lose a Count...

a friend and I have been debating whether the alleged Kirk shooter was either a "dirtbag left cumtown chapo stupidpol poster" or if he was an "irony poisoned, terminally online, neonazi groyper type" given the gun casings, which shows just how impenetrable this is going to be for MSM

While I obviously consider blue sky the superior platform, when it comes to unapologetically celebrating murder via memes twitter still has the goods.

ChatGPT: Apologies. I didn't realise when recommending Pagliacci's epic show to cure your depression that you were the genius himself. I'm impressed! With regards to your initial question, I can recommend seeing the Great Clown Pagliacci.

Brilliant maneuvering by our government, in exchange for kowtowing, inviting foreign intelligence to open a branch, and insulting our main trade partner we receive an additional 5% tariff on exports to the US.

Luxon and Peters playing that 6 dimensional chess no doubt.

A very good long piece on AoNZ & climate which details why (among other things) the oil & gas reversal is utterly batshit on so many levels including economic ones. As these decisions become more obviously irrational, the justifications are becoming equally insane.

“Ideological Sludge”: How New Zealand Is Quiet Quitting Climate Action
New Zealand once stood out as a world leader on climate change. In June it became the first country in the world to abandon a commitment to phase out oil, gas and coal.

Protip for any social service scrambling for funding under this government. 'Wraparound service' is out: sounds like a hug, very feminine, gives woke. In this season: 'multidisciplinary approach'. Rigorous and sciencey sounding, give it a new name and they won't notice it's the same service.

Our Government does not have a debt or interest cost problem. Yet that belief and repeated statement of 'fact' is the driving force behind all the Government's actions. It is the Coalition's North Star. And it doesn't exist.
If you squint a bit you will spot Central Govt net interest payments dipping back under $1bn per year. Incredible how much attention the Govt interest bill gets when the bigger story is so bloody obvious. Now how do businesses cover those billions of extra debt-servicing costs? 🤔

I’ve written a letter of complaint to the PM regarding Seymour's behaviour. We’ve witnessed him target academics who act as our critic and conscience, and attack public servants for simply doing their job. This is unacceptable.
