Thinking about it, some of the comments from teachers weren’t great but I never got in trouble for it at home as far as I can remember.
Just read all my own report cards from school. Always struggled with maths. Teachers tried to motivate me by telling me I was capable, just not applying myself. Some attitude problems in high school (hated one particular teacher and it showed). Anyway, still here and doing ok even if I was average.

Raises profound q’s about how factual evidence is communicated to the public. Democracies are too easily destroyed by dis/misinformation (see the USA today). Objective academic voices are vital but not cutting thru.

Saw someone excusing bad behaviour of ICE… if only they’d complied… um, that justification was given re Jewish people arrested for not wearing or ‘hiding’ the star too… if they’d just obeyed the law they wouldn’t have been arrested and they’d be alive right now. Perhaps I’m being hyperbolic buT..
