YES! Services aren't meant to make a profit, they are to provide a public good. Capitalism has rotted our brains into thinking government services need to break even / turn a profit.
I don't want to start a thing so I'll just say that there will never be a good argument for privatizing USPS. That would be like privatizing libraries. The aim of services isn't to be run for profit, they are for serving the greater good, which USPS has been extremely successful at.

One of the effects of the demand for a “return to normal” has been a complete abandonment of people with long covid. Because how could they be sick with something that isn’t a big deal?

This is a huge problem with tariffs historically! If an American car is $20k and a Japanese car is 15k, slapping a 100% auto tariff on Japan and turning that Japanese car’s price to $30k means that American automakers can raise their prices to $25k and still sell the cheapest car in town.
To the surprise of absolutely no one:
Business owners have said once the tariffs take hold, they plan on rising prices on everything including on items not being tariffed.
Basically, the same strategy as the "cov-lation", use tariffs as an excuse and justification to raise prices on all ideas.
