These stupid, stupid motherfuckers are going to get us all killed. We warned you. You saw who he was the first time. But no, it's never real until it affects them personally. My empathy well is dry as fuck for these dumbasses who are in the "find out" portion of the FAFO.
She hoped Trump’s victory would change her life, but not like this
Ryleigh Cooper is normally more focused on motherhood than politics. Then came DOGE.

This morning, I went into my local coffee shop and saw an ostensibly cis/het couple playing Magic: The Gathering, and my first thought as a trans woman was, "This is cultural appropriation."

“The truth … is that GC/TERFs are actively working to ban access to gender-affirming care and to push trans people out of the public sphere. Trans people are not doing anything remotely similar to cis women, despite all the flimsy accusations of ‘erasing’ and ‘silencing’ women to the contrary.”
since all the "gender critical"/TERFs are migrating here, thought I'd share this primer explaining their history, dissecting their beliefs, & debunking their talking points. no-paywall links, pls share!

Queer double entendre #274:

Realizing how specific you need to be when causally mentioning borrowing a trans masc friend's straps. (Tie down straps for securing a Christmas tree on top of a car)

Trans bodies are treated by soceity as de facto disabled bodies, and it crops up in scaremongering language about transition care like "lifelong medical patient".
I think thinking about disability, and the treatment of disabled bodies by the medical establishment (esp. racialised and feminised bodies) has a lot to contribute to this!

This is very much my project over the next few years.

So, on my *third* trip to Hannaford (grocery store) this morning (undiagnosed ADHD says what?), I was treated to quite the sight. A man who had to be at least 6'5-6'7 was fully channeling the dude. Long hair, goatee, bathrobe, shorts. The cherry on top? He was wearing fucking Dutch wooden clogs.

The New York Times has been credibly accused of *inventing* the current anti-trans moment in the Democratic party.

They have been publicly whipping up anti-trans sentiment, intentionally and with consistency, for literal years now.

Do not reward them with views and clicks.
NYT is almost always going to focus on the the worst framings about the trans community. The sooner folks accept that and move accordingly, the better.

The most dangerous person in women's spaces in Congress isn't Sarah McBride, it's actually Nancy Mace's staffer Sean Brislin, apparently, who it appears she hired shortly after he broke into a woman's house and slept in her bed.

Fucking *this*
I’m glad so many people agree that the way Republicans are treating Sarah McBride is beyond the pale but I’m begging mainstream journalists to consider why they won’t defend trans people without a paragraph-long disclaimer - and how that connects to the way we are treated.

The public should be aware that I don't have some public opinion barometer over my head as a trans person. I have a pronoun pin and a shirt that literally says I'M A DIVISIVE ISSUE
We are now talking about “public support for trans people” as if we were talking about corn subsidies or something. If being trans isn’t polling well (thanks to millions and millions of dollars of right wing propaganda) what am I meant to do? Stop existing? Die? Go back in the closet? What, exactly?

i promise you are not owning anyone by bringing up trans men when it comes to bathroom stuff they just don’t want trans people generally to be in public or be alive lol. you can’t beat these people with rhetorical tricks

The Trump campaign spent FIVE TIMES MORE MONEY on anti-trans ads than on ads about the economy. It spent twice as much on anti-trans ads than it did on ads about immigration.

Trans people are not the ones "shoving" our existence in your face. We're being used as political fodder.

This reporting reveals two things:

1) The NYT is, as always, transphobic as hell.

but also...

2) Seth Moulton envisions a "grand bargain" of trading away sports for healthcare rights.

The big fear will be, Dems trade away sports now and continue to run on an equality act that never passes.
