I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

If we had to hear “Baby Shark” everywhere we went for two whole months out of the year we’d throw a fit, right?

And rightfully so.

So tell me, why do we put up with it when the song is “Frosty the Snowman”?

As winter flooding looms, it's worth noting that a young street tree in an asphalt surface can prevent 60% of the rain that falls on it from reaching the ground, even when not in leaf.

Increasing the low levels of urban tree cover should be a strategic national priority.

Cornyn and Cruz will proudly tell you they’re working to protect women from “dangerous illegal immigrants,” but what they won’t tell you is how they’re also working to protect billionaires from justice-seeking women.

U.S. Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn of Texas voted against releasing Epstein files
The amendment was narrowly defeated with a 51-49 vote, meaning the Texas senators could have stopped the GOP effort to squash it.

ChatGPT won’t allow me to generate an image with the word “pedophile”. More on this later, but a window of opportunity is opening to turn the MAGA cap into an instantly recognizable and radioactively toxic symbol of everything wrong with the modern Republican Party.

I hate this timeline. This is NOT how to thank veterans. A Purple Heart recipient deserves our eternal gratitude. They have more than earned citizenship and should be treated like a citizen regardless of any paperwork status.

Put that in any new immigration bill.

AI increasing the dominance of English worldwide means greater cultural complacency for native (US) English speakers leading to "the assumption that their perspective is universal because they haven’t had to struggle to express themselves in someone else’s terms."

Brazil didn’t stop at sentencing former president Bolsanaro to 27 years for an attempted coup; his entire inner circle—from the vice president and the military commander to the intelligence chief and even his son—are also facing decades in prison.

May I suggest: Support and Uplift

“A Native American girl was nearly deported from her own country because ICE saw brown skin and assumed ‘illegal.’ This isn’t security — it’s racial profiling and state intimidation. These are Gestapo-style tactics happening in America right now.”

Eyes on Memphis!
Memphis is experiencing gestapo-style raids 24/7 now. Our local media is failing us and the national media is ignoring this black/blue/incredibly poor city in a red state. I guess we just aren’t as sexy as LA or Portland.
