How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

I would put more money on continuing to harvest infinite energy from the sun over assuming that forcing everyone to use The Machine The Lies To You is the steady basis of an entire economy
A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB

I’ll keep pushing this line of analysis because I’m increasingly convinced the clearest path out of this mess is for Dems to adopt a relentless anti-corruption, anti-inequality, anti-oligarchy, pro-democracy platform. The Dem leadership hasn’t realized it yet, but they’re now a reform party.

So dangerous to create a personalist regime where no coherent policy is ever made and anyone who contradicts the leader is forced out. The governance of modern societies depends on planning and information flow.

Deportations conducted by the trump admin are anti-constitutional and an affront to american ideals. fuck off gorka.
Trump's counterterrorism czar Sebastian Gorka says Americans critical of deportations like Abrego Garcia's are providing "material support" to terrorists — a felony crime.

Again would like to remind everyone that if NC had fair districts republicans wouldn’t be in control of the house.
This just passed, party line vote with all Dems voting no and Republican Thomas Massie joining them.

I will explain the details below, for those who want cliff notes version it's in the bottom of this press release:

Also would note responsibility for this goes to the U.S. Supreme Court and the North Carolina Supreme Court - for greenlighting gerrymandering.

The three extra seats that Rs picked up in NC after a fair 7R-7D map was replaced with a gerrymandered 10R-4D map are, by themselves, the difference.
Every Democrat who is in DC returned in time to vote against the bill (the lone NV is Rep. Grijalva, who is fighting cancer). The vote shenanigans did not make the difference in the end, Dems made sure they all got to vote.

Your anger is best direct at the people who actually do the bad things!

NEW: Sources tell my office that Treasury Secretary Bessent has granted DOGE *full* access to this system. Social Security and Medicare benefits, grants, payments to government contractors, including those that compete directly with Musk's own companies. All of it.

did people not see this coming??
This sounds like an attempt to shut down government operations altogether, subject every federal government function to the president’s approval, and then allow the president to use funds deemed not consistent with his desires for whatever he wants—even if appropriated.
NEW — OMB temporarily pauses all agency grants and loans programs.

Per copy of memo: "The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve."
