They could use a fraction of the budget they allocate to whatever AI nonsense they are spending billions on and improve their subtitle rendering across the board to at least support a bare minimum like multiple lines, positioning etc
See, this is fan logic. Fansubs don't have to jump through the arbitrary rules of streaming services. Netflix specifically forbids burned in subs, and other bigger streamers do too.
This is done because of LAZINESS!
Fansubs when they're in the mood can make captions so perfect that you would think is official localization.
