Use optimism as an act of rebellion
Really hope this means a new campaign with a 300-foot tall Suica Penguin.
JR East's Suica card is handy for both travel and shopping. But the low maximum 20K yen ($129) balance means its purchasing power is limited. That's about to change, as JR East says it'll raise the limit to better compete against other cashless payment options.

Suica Unleashed: JR East Will Increase Low Balance Limit on Popular Transit Card - Unseen Japan
The Suica public transit card from Japan’s JR East isn’t just a transit card – it’s an oft-used cashless payment method as well. However, until now, the card’s utility has been hobbled by its low…

I’m back from Japan, I’m a complete sleep deprived wreck with a sore throat, but I managed to score Scatman John’s insane Japan-only single “Su Su Su Super KIREI” for ¥50 so I am at peace

Breaking my heart to be out of the country for this
I cannot stress enough how, if you like fantasy, epics, action, good movies in general, Indian cinema, and/or RRR, you REALLY need to catch BAAHUBALI: THE EPIC on the big screen this week.

Don't worry a bit about the run time, we hard-coded a ten minute intermission into the DCP and the film ZIPS.
At the intermission for BAAHUBALI: THE EPIC and my short review so far is this shit rocks.

I feel like I’m seeing a LOT less English signage in Tokyo this trip. It’s subtle and passive aggressive, but it’s clear they’re getting sick of us.
There is palpable delight when I can speak Japanese, as bad as my skills may be.
