Age verification? My gateway into Pokemon was a VHS tape Nintendo mailed with the S.S. Anne episode.
Age verification? I got to see Superman the Movie in the theater for free because a poem I wrote about the planet Krypton won a contest they held at Kaufmann's department store in downtown Pittsburgh.
Age verification? The definitive pop star, the performance and musical standard against which I subconsciously judge all others, is a guy with a stripe painted on his nose dressed as an 18th century bandit yelling “fa-diddly-qua-qua”

hard to like... talk to people about how fraught it is for queer American creatives--particularly for kids/MG/Y, and particularly for comics rn--in terms of planning your life trajectory. this stuff has to start years ahead of time but who knows what years ahead will look like haha

Film students can't sit through movies, manga editors won't read widely, the rest of us drink deeply from the well of life and belch proudly.

In addition to all this, Fobazi was funny. Really funny. She wasn’t just vocational awe. She would have hated that. RIP.

I don't do library reference work anymore, but when I did, the CIA World Factbook was indispensable. It was detailed, authoritative, and brimming with loads of arcane facts. I can't tell you how many country assignments this resource supported, but it had to be in the millions.

It’s hard to put into perspective how truly massive the warehouse is that was recently sold by the Rockefeller Group to the Department of Homeland Security for $70 million to build a concentration camp in Surprise, AZ. Across the street is a huge neighborhood and a school. It’s 400,000-square-feet.

This is unreal. An AUSA talking like that in open court is about as close as you can come to a total breakdown. Never heard of anything like it.

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.

Just starting The Return over here. Each stage (original series, Secret Diary of Laura Palmer, Fire Walk With Me, The Missing Pieces) meaningfully built on what came before and has been more than worth the ride.
Twin Peaks was incredible, and also every single person who ever described it to me made it sound like the first season versus the entire story through The Return. Really powerful. Loved every minute
