Some highlights from the Magdalena Abakanowicz show at the Musse Bourdelle in Paris. It was a fantastic show in a nice museum that highlights the work and career of sculpture Antoine Bourdelle. He's not so well-known in the States I think, but clearly a big deal in France.

Marche Raspail in Paris. It's amazing to see what all the vendors have, and so fun to just watch people shopping.

Republican fascists will tell you that the people in parkas and bathrobes are domestic terrorists who threaten our way of life and the armed paramilitary thugs who are terrorizing them with kidnapping and gassing and beatings and murder are legal officers who ensure our peace and safety.

I'm watching @samhelmick.bsky.social interview acting Librarian of Congress Robert Newlen and it's just fascinating! What a career Robert has had, and what wonderful stories he has to share. Also, I aspire to be the kind of active, engaged, and enthusiastic listener that Sam is. So much warmth!

Hey Pals, make sure you drink responsibly this Sunday and please designate someone sober to be in charge of the remote. I'd hate to see people get so hammered that they accidentally watch the TPUSA All-American Halftime Show. #superbowl #supersunday #drinkresponsibly

I don't do library reference work anymore, but when I did, the CIA World Factbook was indispensable. It was detailed, authoritative, and brimming with loads of arcane facts. I can't tell you how many country assignments this resource supported, but it had to be in the millions.

I saw a critique of Springsteen's new song, it being too earnest and cringe, and if I could just take a second to introduce you to the entire Bruce Springsteen catalogue we could settle this in a heartbeat.

I'm awake at 4:00AM. We live on a pretty busy street and so the plows just came through. They plowed our street AND the protected bike lane, so that's something good.

I can't believe I've been on bsky this long and I'm just now encountering the term "wokescold"! Also, I had to look it up because I wasn't sure if it meant someone who scolds people for being woke, or someone who scolds people for not being woke enough. It's apparently the latter. TMYK.

"I think there’s something I’m seeking, some sensory feeling I want to impart on folks who are looking at my work. And I don’t know if I have the language to explain what that feeling is, but it’s a sense of appreciation, but also confusion, but also frustration and melancholy or even impotence."
