It's almost as if devolution works. But only when leaders stand up for their people and diverge from the national government where actions and principles don't align. We don't see enough of this in the UK.

The AI boom emitted as much CO2 in 2025 as New York City.

AI-related water use now exceeds all global bottled-water demands.

Billionaires reap the profit and corporations benefit but our society is left to pay cost.

Let’s say NO to new AI datacenters, block gen AI and push for AI-free apps.

Politics needs shaking up for sure but this isn't it, much as I wish it was. I wish this wasn't such a shit show. It's embarrassing.
This is a very Your Party thing to do. Instead of picking a leader they've gone down the collective party leadership role route.

That will just lead to a lot more internal jostling for power and in fighting while media won't know who to invite on to their programmes.

Your Party won't be led by Jeremy Corbyn or Zarah Sultana after this major vote
The twist we didn't see coming.

Started watching Broadchurch. Never seen it before. It's got everyone in it. Jonathan Bailey, Arthur Darvill, Olivia Coleman, Jodie Whittaker, David Tennant. I think I got put off when it aired by the hype but this cast is stacked with people I like.

The UK is losing up to £250m a day in lost tax revenue due to the economic impact of Brexit, House of Commons Library analysis for the Lib Dems suggests.

Brexit has blown a "black hole of [up to] £90 billion a year in the public finances" the party says. Even under lower estimates the hit is ~£65bn

I can absolutely see Andrew, formerly known as Prince Paedophile, showing up on this. After giving a platform to Matt Hancock, I don't think it's beyond ITV to give the King's brother an opportunity to try and rehabilitate himself. I hope I'm wrong.

I've spent all evening listening to the new album on repeat and now I'm onto her older stuff and reminiscing. R.I.P David Harbour. Although tbh that's more than he deserves, according to West End Girl.
The new Lily Allen album is absolutely magnificent. It’s impossible to exaggerate her influence over so many modern artistes and ‘West End Girl’ shows why. But my goodness it’s brutal. Tunes like nursery rhymes, lyrics like razor blades.

Reading the excerpts you kind of get the desperation from the powerful to make this story go away.

Not a particularly big fan of late night talk show hosts in the states but one of my most vivid memories from the pandemic was when they decided to do their shows from home, off their own backs, uploading videos to YouTube. That was such a strange time but they saw people through it. Fuck Trump.

This sounds like a barrel of laughs. But getting COVID is no big deal right. No lasting impacts. Nothing to worry about in the long term.

This obviously has nothing to do with Stephen Fry (who originally voiced the audiobooks) having finally stood up to JKR and her TERFy ways. Fuck all these people. Most of them don't need this cheque.

You should not have to prove you're an adult, and indeed should not be required to be an adult at all, to send private messages. This is the most obscenely tyrannical part of this whole thing. Underage people have a right to speak, a right to privacy, and a right to private correspondence.

Trying to stay awake for an interview at 10. A vicious cycle of anxiety and depression is ruining my sleep. Seeing someone next week about it because there's no way I'm landing a job like this. I would not employ me rn.

Nothing says fragile masculinity quite like bombing a country because you got upset when people were calling you a TACO.

I for one am shocked that a man who only turned up for one Fisheries meeting out of 42 when he was an MEP would decide to go on holiday when Parliament was sitting, rather than during the 18 weeks it is closed.

Can we also extend this to calls on speaker phones? It's so intrusive and unnecessary. Wait until you're somewhere you can actually hear a conversation.
