Which building looks better, the older ornamented box or the new one with upper floor stepbacks, massing breaks, and numerous facade colors?

Two of the most vocal anti RCV voices in DC are now Bonds and Felder. Each of them won their nominations with well under 50% of the vote.

It might not be their true motivation, but it sure comes off looking like each of them is afraid that RCV could lead to their personal electoral defeat.

So cool to see so many folks come out to the NYC Parks Foundation rally demanding an increased investment in public restrooms and drinking fountains in NYC Parks.

The public bathrooms in our parks make it so much easier to be out and about.

But only if they're open! And accessible.

You're not imagining it: NYC's Citi Bike system costs more to ride than any other major bike-share system in the United States, Canada or Europe — despite astronomical geographic and ridership growth raking in more and more money for Lyft, which operates the program.

The maximum cost for renting street space for a DC streatery should be no more than the maximum revenue that DC should expect from on-street parking at that space.

For some streateries that could be as low as $50/year. That's how much we subsidize parking in DC!
Charles Allen will be introducing emergency legislation to revise the DDOT/DOB streatery regulations before they are implemented to lower the cost and add more flexibility

Insane but true fact: making US roads as safe as Canadian, Australian, or European roads would save more lives than eliminating murder from the US.

One of the reasons USA cities suffer is most urban politicians are not willing to engage in the policy and trade offs to make cities thrive. They don’t conceive of themselves as being in competition with the suburbs all too often they wish to make the city into the suburbs!

One way to zip across D.C. has gotten......... a little less zippy.

Mobility companies Lime and Veo recently lowered the max speed on D.C.’s almost 7,000 dockless e-bikes.

Officials say new limits are intended to address issues with speeding and crime, particularly among teens.
