When we say "no, everything hasn't been digitized," I need you to understand that we really mean is that virtually nothing has been digitized. This is because the realm of primary sources that historians use is incomprehensibly large.

No document will protect you. All they have to do is take it from you and "lose" it; take it from you and say you never gave it to them; claim it's fake ⬇️; make a new rule that you need ANOTHER document. Citizenship is a made-up status that governments decide the rules for. No one is free until all.
Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales was born in Maryland. She has a valid U.S. birth certificate, medical and immunization records, and sworn affidavits.

Yet, ICE claims her documents are “not authentic” and has held her in immigration detention for days.

Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales was arrested on Sunday. ICE won’t release her despite extensive documentation of her citizenship, her attorneys told HuffPost.

Nenko Gantchev should still be alive—home with his family. After 30 years contributing to Chicagoland as a small business owner and taxpayer, ICE detained him, ignored his medical needs, and he died in custody. This system is cruel, reckless, and must be held accountable.

Every squishy center-leftist who had “legitimate concerns” about some youth transition needs to face facts: there was no counterparty you could negotiate on the margins with. The other side wants trans people not to exist. It’s that simple.
Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.

3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.

4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.

It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

Story to come.

"[Workers at major companies] are asking, why do I have to use something that doesn't work? Well it's because capitalism demands eternal growth. Milton Friedman's ghost haunts every trader, Ronald Reagan pops out of the toilet every so often, this is what we do here."

Love the mental imagery.

If the average American could read a book, and ever read a book on the history of Korea and the United States' involvement in the history of the nation, I like to think they'd feel such intense shame that their heads would explode Scanners style, if the average American could experience shame
that and the folks in South Korea are generally fairly fond of the United States and wish us well because:

There's that stupid "fact" about capacity:
"The average person processes more data each day than a person in the 15th century did in a lifetime"
And it's just not true! We're taking in different data then the 15th century guy, and we don't treat the brook or the sunset as the useful data that it is
if I was a 12th century Cluniac monk I never would have gotten to passively watch files download at 25 MB/s and would have had to content myself with observations of babbling brooks, fields of wheat swaying in the wind, sunsets, etc

10:00am ICE chased a guy to an apartment building. Crowd gathered. Rapid response arrived. By 3:30pm 30 agents there, & used chem munitions & gassed the n’hood*

5 hours
Eventually 30 agents
1 guy

Neighbors & rapid response were sand in the gears
Happening right now. Community members in Elgin, IL are in a standoff with Feds who are trying to abduct their neighbor.

Her baby was in the NICU. She was in ICE detention.
Before Trump took office, postpartum immigrants were rarely detained by ICE. Nayra Guzmán was detained while her 15-day-old baby was in the NICU.
