My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

This. It literally only takes one person having a bad day or not paying attention or with some kind of cognitive or mental health problem for this sort of thing to work. The problem is that somebody's going around doing fraud, not that somebody out there is "dumb" enough to "fall" for it.

The idea of 50-year mortgages is bonkers. Someone tell the MAGA Christian nationalists that the practice of usury was condemned in their Bibles to protect the poor from being forced into permanent debt and was seen as a sin comparable to robbery or idolatry.
