FBI historian here. Basically all of the FBI’s greatest scandals across history come from attempts to criminalize First Amendment rights. It never works out well for the bureau and ends a lot of careers.
I would like to know how my prior colleagues, who have chosen to pursue leadership positions under this charlatan, justify ordering agents to break their oaths of office and open investigations on people simply for exercising their legal rights.

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

So basically the strategy now from the Trump admin is to stop calling him a domestic terrorist while continuing to lie about everything that happened. Classic Trump where he believes it’s about the branding not the substance.

Every last one of us needs to contact our elected officials TOMORROW MORNING when their office opens. If you can walk in, walk in. If you can only call, then call. Demand that your elected officials endorse articles of impeachment (or, for Senators, a conviction vote). This is how we can win.
