Democrats always win the generic ballot polls. I don't know why generic Democrats are more popular than real Democrats, but it's true.

This GOP notion that people are dying to have one on one negotiations with their health insurance companies is so tone deaf it sounds like a democratic proposal

every time a prominent man is revealed to be a horrible abusive freak they put out a statement being like "I hope, over time, I may rebuild the trust I have lost" and just once I would love for them to say "I'm sixty years old and a multimillionaire, you never have to hear about me again."

Women's problem is not meeting the same standards as men. We do that every day, and often exceed expectations.

But if you're expected to fuck Larry Summers to get ahead, it's no surprise that women might fall behind men, who are not expected to do this.

To repeat: I have studied a lot of cases of autocratization over the past 15 years. Wrote about them, taught about them, consulting about them.

I do not recall an opposition so apathetic, ignorant, and inept as the @democrats.org. They cling to their power, rather than fight for democracy. Shame.

Schumer's patented surrender plan always involves getting the bare minimum necessary yes votes to let the rest of the caucus cast safely irrelevant no votes.

The caucus supports him because this gives them maximum cover to pretend to fight without really fighting. This is exactly what they want.
100% Schumer leads the party through another sneaky surrender.

Republicans already have 55 votes (52 Rs, 2 Ds, and King I/D).

5 more Dems safely far from re-election will join to make 60, (spouting "tough but necessary decision" BS). The rest of the Dems vote no and claim "but at least we fought".

As soon as last Tuesday went so well, I knew the Dems would cave as quickly as possible. Have to keep their base demoralized at all times or we'd expect them to actually deliver some solutions.

(4) Trump and the Republicans don't have an advantage over Democrats because they *better understand heartland Americans.*

They have an advantage over Democrats because they created their own universe of propaganda outlets, and then went out and bought all the mainstream outlets.

Duh.

the democratic party’s basic problem is it has almost no control over how its message reaches the ears of voters, especially outside of presidential election years. but rather than devote serious time, attention and cash to that problem its consultants and pundits want to fight factional battles
