One small(!) point. The way the debate has been engaged in over the last decade, asylum seekers have been conflated with illegal immigrants, illegal immigrants conflated with legal immigrants, and immigrants conflated with all ethnic minorities, you can’t attack one group without attacking all.

It is really unhelpful to confuse immigration and refugees like this. Immigrants, pretty obviously, are not given hotel accommodation by the state.

So, yes, Labour are not losing no voters to Reform, but Reform having already use up about two-thirds of that potential. By comparison, Labour are losing more voters to progressive parties, but those parties have only squeezed about 25-30% of their potential gains out from Labour so far.

Am genuinely unsure if the world would be in a better or worse place if this US Administration were run by mega competent people, or if in fact the chaotic shenanigans at the centre has to some degree saved us all.
